Moving...

I know I haven't been keeping up with posts for quite awhile now. My husband is coming back from Iraq next month and so my daughter and I will be moving. It's last minute, so I am extremely busy and won't be posting for awhile.
Once we get moved back up to Washington I hope that my posting will become more regular!

Thanks to all of you who have stuck by!! ... See you soon!

Memorial Day!

Let's remember this Memorial Day for what it really means and stands for!
Memorial Day: Commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service.
For the men and women who gave the ULTIMATE sacrifice.

Please take this weekend to remember the 4400 soldiers who have died in Iraq and the 1000 who have died in Afghanistan. Along with every other war and death in all military services.

Shopping Trip: Safeway!

I ran into Safeway last night to pick up a couple of things. And it was one of those nights and my transaction went all wrong and the total went into the negative and had to be brought back up. We all have trips like that though right?

All in all it worked out and I ended paying only $0.04!!
And of course I used my debit card... for 4 pennies!

Now I am going to break down the deals, but the total will NOT reach $0.04 because my transaction got all screwed up. But don't worry... Safeway actually made $0.70 or so off of me becuase I used a catalina worth $2.00 on a total of about $1.25.

So here's breakdown:
These deals are good through Tuesday June 1st.

The total should have been: $2.28

But because my FREE coupons that I used were scanned in at the max value price instead of the price that the items were on sale for then I had extra money come off.

What deals have you gotten at Safeway!?

Restaurant.com -- 80% savings!!

Restaurant.com is a place to get gift certificates to restaurants in your local area at deep discounts.
I have personally done this before and it was awesome!

A normal cost is $10.00 for a $25.00 gift certificates. Some restrictions do apply. Normally you have to spend $35.00 in order to use the certificate (before tax and alcohol) and an 18% gratuity is automatically added on.
You can only use one per month and they don't expire for a whole year.
But all in all these are GREAT deals.
Another way to be thrifty in your everyday life!

But OF COURSE I never pay the $10.00! I always wait until it's 70 - 80% off -- WHICH IS NOW!

Get a $25.00 gift certificate for only $2.00 !

USE CODE: FLAG
This is good until Monday May 31st!

Unfortunately for anyone in the 97103 zip.. there isn't anything. But you can always get one if you are going out of town or to Portland!

Children's Tylenol Recall Update.

Awhile back in April 2010 there was a recall on children & infants Tylenol, Motrin, etc:

From the McNeil Product Recall website:
"McNeil Consumer Healthcare Announces Voluntary Recall of Certain OTC Infants’ and Children's Products
Fort Washington, PA (April 30, 2010) – McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., in consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is voluntarily recalling all lots that have not yet expired of certain over-the-counter (OTC) Children’s and Infants’ liquid products manufactured in the United States and distributed in the United States, Canada, Dominican Republic, Dubai (UAE), Fiji, Guam, Guatemala, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago, and Kuwait. (SEE RECALLED PRODUCT LIST BELOW).
McNeil Consumer Healthcare is initiating this voluntary recall because some of these products may not meet required quality standards. This recall is not being undertaken on the basis of adverse medical events. However, as a precautionary measure, parents and caregivers should not administer these products to their children. Some of the products included in the recall may contain a higher concentration of active ingredient than is specified; others may contain inactive ingredients that may not meet internal testing requirements; and others may contain tiny particles. While the potential for serious medical events is remote, the company advises consumers who have purchased these recalled products to discontinue use.
The company is conducting a comprehensive quality assessment across its manufacturing operations and has identified corrective actions that will be implemented before new manufacturing is initiated at the plant where the recalled products were made.
Consumers can contact the company at 1-888-222-6036 and also at www.mcneilproductrecall.com. Parents and caregivers who are not sure about alternative pediatric health treatment options should talk to their doctor or pharmacist and are reminded to never give drug products to infants and children that are not intended for those age groups as this could result in serious harm. "

You can get a refund of an average price or choose to get coupons up to a certain value.

I got my coupons in the mail today. They came pretty quickly and don't expire until May 2012! I got 2 valued at $8.00 and 3 valued at $7.00. Assuming that the $8.00 was for the Tylenol and the $7.00 for the Motrin.

If you need to enter in your product information and ask for a rebate GO HERE to do that.
I asked for coupons instead of a check because I am hoping to use them on a sale at Walgreens so I can make money off of them by getting a register reward back.
For example: BUY 3 Tylenol get a $5.00 RR.
I would then use 3 of my coupons to get them for FREE plus $5.00 back in Register Rewards.

This is only my plan unless my daughter needs the medecine sooner! :)
